Confucius Institute at University of the Republic of San Marino holds ceremony to celebrate its 1st anniversary and inauguration of Tongrentang Museum

On July 22nd, 2016, the Confucius Institute at University of the Republic of San Marino held a ceremony to celebrate its first anniversary and the inauguration of Tongrentang Museum. Around 300 guests from various social sectors attended this event, including Giuseppe Maria Morganti, Minister of Culture of San Marino; Gianfranco Terenzi, former Captain Regent of San Marino; Luo Ping, Educational Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Italy; Lu Jianguo, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of Beijing Tong Ren Tang Co., Ltd.; and Qin Shiyou, Vice President of Beijing City University.

At the ceremony, guests delivered their speeches respectively, then Giuseppe Maria Morganti and Gianfranco Terenzi jointly unveiled the nameplate of the museum. Zhao Jun, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at University of the Republic of San Marino, reviewed the work over the past year and expressed sincere appreciation to the San Marino government, the Chinese Embassy in Italy, Beijing City University, Beijing Tong Ren Tang Co., Ltd., and other institutions.

Later, artists from Beijing City University, Chinese partner institution of the Confucius Institute, staged some spectacular performances at the ceremony, leading the event to its climax. Among the programs, the performance of Peking Opera Mu Guiying Taking Command by Qi Lin, a disciple of the renowned Peking Opera master Mei Baojiu, won special popularity among the audience.
